COVID-19 Update

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Due to the most recent shelter in place orders for six Bay Area Counties, Teamsters Local 350 will be closing our office through April 7, 2020.

All Business Representatives and I will be working remotely and available by email or cell phone.  We understand there is a lot of uncertainty, but please feel free to reach out to us with your concerns.  Although circumstances change daily, we will do our best to stay informed and relay relevant information to each of our members.

Furthermore, we will be canceling all group Union functions (membership meetings, ratification votes, etc.) until further notice.  Scheduled meetings will be postponed and rescheduled. We will advise you of the new dates once they are scheduled.

The Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara have deemed sanitation work as “essential services,” meaning all our garbage and recycling members, including our linen service members, will remain working.  Even if members live in a county that is part of the shelter in place order, you will be allowed to leave your home because you are performing an essential function.

For our members in the Public Sector, we are currently trying to determine if your jobs are considered essential services and will advise as soon as we have more information.

We will continue to fight for our members to ensure that your families are as safe as possible under the circumstances and that your financial situation remains stable.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.

In solidarity,

John Bouchard

Secretary-Treasurer
