Local 350 Republic Members Stands in Solidarity

Today, Teamsters Local 350 members from the Republic Services/Allied Waste Services of Santa Clara unit participated in a nationwide action against the mega-corporation employer.

Republic Services brought in $10 billion in revenues last year and ended up with $1 million billion in profits. Rather than investing those profits into higher wages or new trucks, Republic spent more than $736 million buying back its own stock.

“Republic Services’ money-hungry tactic attempts are all at the expense of our members, and we will never allow it. Our members work in the 5th most dangerous industry in the nation, and this company dares to try and scale back worker protections. This is a slap in the face to not only our members but their families as well.

We all know that Republic Services shareholders fatten their pockets off the backs of our men and women. We demand that our members be treated fairly, be treated with dignity and respect ad be compensated for the hard work they put in day in and day out." said Principal Officer and Secretary-Treasurer John Bouchard.

FIGHT TOGETHER, WIN TOGETHER!
